A spectacular display of vintage tractors and classic cars in a Pembrokeshire village has resulted in an extraordinary fundraising achievement for local health services.
Record-Breaking Community Effort
The Camrose Vintage Working Day, held annually in the village of Camrose, has smashed all previous records by raising an incredible £32,000 for local causes. This year's event, which took place on Saturday, August 23, 2025, marked the 38th edition of the popular community gathering.
From the total amount raised, a substantial £4,000 was specifically allocated to health services provided by Hywel Dda. The funds were distributed equally among four recipients, with each receiving £1,000.
Supporting Vital Health Services
The beneficiaries included three key departments at Withybush Hospital: the Chemo Day Unit, Ward 11, and the Respiratory Team. The fourth recipient was the Heads Up! Hair Loss Initiative, which provides crucial support for people experiencing hair loss due to medical treatments.
Liliana Guta, Senior Sister at Withybush Hospital's Chemo Day Unit, expressed profound gratitude for the donation. "It is very kind of the Camrose Vintage Working Day team to donate again such a significant amount of money! We can't thank you enough," she said.
Looking Ahead to Future Events
Andrew James, Chairman of Camrose Vintage Working Day, highlighted the significance of this year's achievement. "Our 38th Camrose Vintage Working Day donated a record-breaking £32,000 to 32 local charities. We are so pleased to support the Chemo Day Unit, Ward 11 and Respiratory Team at Withybush Hospital and the Heads Up! Hair Loss Initiative causes which are close to our hearts," he commented.
James extended thanks to everyone who contributed to the event's success and confirmed that planning is already underway for next year's gathering. "Thank you to everyone who helps and supports our event. We are now looking forward to our 39th Camrose Vintage Working Day which will take place on Saturday 20th August 2026."
