Dance Students Raise £1,364 for Children in Need

Young dancers from Rooftop Studios have channeled their energy into a fantastic cause, raising a significant sum for BBC Children in Need through a series of lively events.

A Flurry of Fundraising Activities

For two weeks, the atmosphere at the Stone and Leek branches of the dance school was electric with charitable spirit. Students and their families participated in a packed schedule of activities designed to boost donations. The calendar featured fun-themed pyjama dance classes and special bring-a-friend sessions that widened the community reach.

Further contributions came from popular raffles and cake stalls, sweetening the deal for all involved. The excitement peaked with a special appearance from Pudsey Bear himself, who joined the celebrations to cheer on the participants. A central part of the fundraising effort was the students' involvement in The Performers Project annual Tapathon.

Community Spirit and Heartfelt Thanks

The collective effort resulted in an outstanding total of £1,364 for the beloved children's charity. Studio director Laura Keeling expressed her immense pride, stating the event is always a highlight for the school.

"Children in Need is always a highlight of our year, and we’re incredibly proud of the enthusiasm and generosity shown by our dancers and their families," Keeling said. "The atmosphere in the studio has been fantastic — full of kindness, creativity and community spirit. We’re so grateful to everyone who took part and helped us raise such an amazing amount."

The studio extended special gratitude to Miss Verity for organising the Tapathon. They also thanked their dedicated student helpers – Sophie, Izzy, Libby, Emilie and Jake – and gave a shout-out to Will for helping bring Pudsey Bear to the festivities.
