Faith in Families Hosts Successful 90s-Themed Charity Ball
Faith in Families recently organized a lively and nostalgic 90s-themed fundraising Charity Ball, which proved to be a tremendous success in supporting local communities. The event brought together supporters and volunteers for an evening of fun and philanthropy, all aimed at making a tangible difference in the lives of families in need.
Lloyd & Whyte Community Broking Swansea Steps Up
Chris Mills, Head of Lloyd & Whyte Community Broking Swansea, and operations team leader Neena Patel enthusiastically participated in the festivities. They actively supported the ‘Play Your Cards Right’ game by selling raffle tickets, taking to the stage to draw winners, and presenting prizes to lucky attendees. Their involvement highlighted the strong partnership between the insurance brokerage and the charity.
Impressive Fundraising Results
The Charity Ball raised an impressive £4,870 for Faith in Families. This amount was then fund matched by the Benefact Group, resulting in a grand total of £9,740. These funds will be used to provide continuous support for local communities and families who require assistance, ensuring that vital resources are available to those facing difficult times.
Ongoing Partnership and Volunteer Efforts
Lloyd & Whyte Community Broking Swansea has been supporting Faith in Families for the past two years. The team regularly volunteers at the Cwtch Mawr hub in Swansea and has undertaken multiple office-wide challenges to raise additional funds. Notable efforts include the Welsh Three Peaks Challenge, demonstrating their commitment to the cause.
The money raised directly benefits local children and families, while also supporting the operation and stocking of local food hubs. This ensures that essential supplies are accessible to those in need, fostering a sense of stability and care within the community.
Personal Reflections from Volunteers
Reflecting on their partnership, one Lloyd & Whyte employee shared: "Faith in Families means a lot to us because it gives us the opportunity to support children and families who may be going through difficult times, and to help create a sense of stability, care, and hope. As volunteers, being able to contribute even in a small way and see the positive impact on people’s lives is incredibly rewarding. It has also helped us grow personally, building empathy and understanding of different experiences, and reminding us how important community and kindness really are."
Broader Impact Through Insurance and Grants
When individuals purchase insurance from Lloyd & Whyte Community Broking, they are also contributing to good causes. As part of the Benefact Group, all available profits are donated to charity, making the Group the third largest UK corporate donor for more than a decade. Additionally, the Benefact Group Movement for Good is making a significant impact on local communities by providing vital funding to charitable organisations and initiatives.
These grants empower community-focused projects to address pressing social issues, support vulnerable populations, and drive positive change. This broader commitment ensures that the spirit of giving extends beyond individual events, creating a lasting legacy of support and compassion.
