Healthcare Worker Runs 10k to Support Frailty Unit at Withybush

Iesha Henderson, a Healthcare Support Worker at Withybush Hospital in Haverfordwest, is set to run the Long Course Weekend 10k on June 28, 2026, to raise funds for the Acute Frailty Unit where she works.

Personal Connection to the Hospital

Born at Withybush Hospital and employed there for nearly four years, Iesha wanted to give back to the service that has been a significant part of her life. She shared her journey into running: "I have been taking running seriously for about four months, whereas before I would go for a run maybe once every few weeks. I enjoy running now so I thought this would be a great way to raise money for our ward."

Motivation from Family

Iesha draws inspiration from her two young sons, who actively support her training. "They enjoy riding their bikes while I run and they love lapping me multiple times!" she said, highlighting the family involvement in her fitness routine.

Support from Hywel Dda Health Charities

Tara Nickerson, Fundraising Manager for Hywel Dda Health Charities, expressed her encouragement: "Huge good luck to Iesha, we look forward to supporting you in Tenby! The generous charitable donations we receive don’t replace NHS funding. Instead, they are used to provide items and activities above and beyond core NHS expenditure, such as more welcoming surroundings for patients, families and staff, and research into, and the development of, treatments."
