Buxton Firm's Team Runs Manchester 10k to Raise £1,000 for Homeless Charity
High Peak Comps Runs Manchester 10k for The Wellspring

A Buxton-based company renowned for its charitable efforts is now taking its fundraising to the streets. The team from online prize draw firm High Peak Comps is set to run the AJ Bell Great Manchester Run, aiming to raise crucial funds for a local homelessness charity.

Running for a Vital Cause in Stockport

The four employees from the Dove Holes company – Charlie Edwards, Callen Deighan, Alexander Greensmith, and Lewis Moore – are preparing to tackle the 10-kilometre (6.21-mile) race. Their collective goal is to raise £1,000 for The Wellspring in Stockport. Demonstrating their commitment from the start, High Peak Comps has already injected £500 of its own money into the fundraising pot.

The Wellspring provides essential, life-saving services to individuals who are homeless or at imminent risk of losing their home. From its base on Harvey Street, the charity offers hot meals, shower facilities, and access to a GP.

A Partnership Built on Community Support

This is not the first time High Peak Comps has supported The Wellspring. Last year, the company donated £100 worth of food to the charity's volunteer-led kitchen, which prepares fresh meals for those in need.

Janet Parish, Business and Community Liaison at The Wellspring, expressed profound gratitude: "We are incredibly grateful that the team from High Peak Comps are running the AJ Bell Great Manchester Run to support The Wellspring as we celebrate 35 years of helping people in Stockport facing homelessness and hardship. Their efforts will directly help the people we support, providing meals, advice, healthcare, and housing support. We can’t thank the team enough for their generosity and wish them the very best on race day."

From Running a Business to Running a Race

Charles Edwards, owner of High Peak Comps, shared the team's enthusiastic, if slightly apprehensive, motivation: "We’re buzzing to raise loads of money for The Wellspring. We’re used to running a company, but what we are not used to is running!" He added a heartfelt plea: "Please support me, Cal, Lewis and Alex as we ruin our legs for this wonderful charity. We donated food to The Wellspring last year, and are delighted to run the Great Manchester Run for them."

The company encourages the public to donate via their JustGiving page, thanking anyone who contributes, shares, or supports the campaign. "We’re going to have some fun for such an important charity," Edwards noted.

A Business Model Centred on Giving Back

High Peak Comps operates daily online prize draws with entries costing from just 5p, offering participants the chance to win significant cash sums and top prizes. Live draws are broadcast on their Facebook page six days a week.

Charitable giving is deeply embedded in the company's ethos. In 2025 alone, High Peak Comps has donated over £120,000 to various charities and good causes, making this Manchester Run fundraiser a continuation of their core mission to support the community.
