Residents across Leicestershire are being offered a special opportunity to enjoy an evening of beautiful classical music while directly supporting a vital local cause. The acclaimed Nova Orchestra Classica will take to the stage at St Mary’s Church in Hinckley for a charity performance in aid of Emmaus Leicestershire & Rutland.
A Musical Tradition of Support
This event, scheduled for Saturday, 31 January, marks the third consecutive year that the talented orchestra has chosen to support the homelessness charity in Hinckley. The partnership has proven impactful, with last year’s concert raising an impressive £400 for the cause. Every penny from ticket sales goes towards funding the charity's essential services, which include providing stable accommodation, personalised support, training programmes, and meaningful work opportunities for people rebuilding their lives after experiencing homelessness.
A Stellar Programme for 2026
Audiences can look forward to a captivating programme curated for the 2026 concert. The evening will open with the lively and iconic Overture to The Magic Flute by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. This will be followed by the powerful and emotive Symphony No. 2 by Robert Schumann. A particular highlight promises to be Joseph Haydn’s Cello Concerto in C major, which will feature the exceptional soloist Danushka Edirisinghe.
The concert will begin at 7.30pm. Tickets are affordably priced to encourage a full house, costing £10 for general admission when purchased at the door. Concession tickets are available for £7. It is important to note that payment on the door will be cash only.
Making a Direct Difference in the Community
Dawn Wright, the director of Emmaus Leicestershire & Rutland, expressed her delight at the orchestra's continued support. "We’re absolutely thrilled that the Nova Orchestra Classica is performing for us once again," she said. "It promises to be a truly fantastic evening of wonderful music, and crucially, every single ticket sold helps us to continue our vital work supporting people in our community who have faced the trauma of homelessness."
This event perfectly combines a cultural highlight with tangible community benefit.
