Clothing by Kilo Sale at Birmingham Pub to Aid Homeless Community
A unique Clothing by Kilo sale is scheduled to take place at a historic Birmingham pub next month, with all proceeds dedicated to supporting the city's homeless population. The event will be hosted at The Old Crown in Digbeth on Saturday, April 4, from 12pm to 4pm, benefiting SIFA Fireside, Birmingham's leading homelessness support service and charity.

Attendees can explore a vast array of pre-loved clothing, vintage treasures, and distinctive finds, with items priced at £10 per kilo. Participants are encouraged to fill their bags and pay by weight, contributing directly to aid individuals experiencing homelessness in Birmingham. This sale marks a continuation of the collaborative partnership between Digbeth neighbors The Old Crown and SIFA Fireside.
The support centre, which provided assistance to more than 2,000 homeless individuals in 2025, requires approximately £1.7 million annually to operate. Funds raised from the kilo sale will help sustain these critical services, including offering practical emergency clothing to those in need.
Community Response and Recommendations
Robb Sheppard, head of fundraising and communications at SIFA Fireside, expressed enthusiasm for the event, stating, "We had a brilliant response when we reached out for quality vintage clothing from our corporate partners, so we're looking forward to seeing people getting their hands on a good haul." He added, "We can then use the proceeds to keep funding our Support Centre. We’re hoping for a great turn-out, so arriving early is the best way to get a bargain."
