Moneypenny's 'Raising Pennies' Team Generates £9,000 for Charitable Causes

The dedicated 'Raising Pennies' team at Moneypenny's Wrexham headquarters has successfully raised an impressive total of £9,000 over the past year for a diverse range of worthy causes, both locally and nationally. This remarkable achievement was accomplished through a series of engaging and enjoyable fundraising activities that brought colleagues together for a common purpose.

Creative Fundraising Activities Drive Success

The fundraising efforts included a variety of fun events designed to encourage participation and generosity. These activities featured cake sales, book sales, pub nights, a Halloween party, a Christmas raffle, a festive jumper day, and a special breakfast with Santa Claus. Each event was carefully planned to maximize community involvement and financial contributions.

All fundraising initiatives are organized and led entirely by Moneypenny employees themselves through the 'Raising Pennies' group. This team consists of colleagues who are deeply passionate about supporting good causes and making a positive impact in their local communities. Their commitment and enthusiasm have been instrumental in driving the success of these charitable endeavors.

Charities Benefiting from the Fundraising Efforts

As a direct result of their hard work and dedication, a total of £2,250 is being donated to four specific charities that were nominated by the Moneypenny team. Each charity addresses critical needs in the community and beyond.

2Wish is a charity based in Llantrisant that provides essential support to anyone affected by the sudden death of a child or an adult under the age of 25. The organization was founded by Rhian Burke after she experienced the tragic loss of her baby son George, followed by the loss of her husband Paul just five days later.

Dynamic is a local centre based in Wrexham that offers a safe and supportive environment for children and young people with disabilities. Their services include after-school clubs, nurture programmes, advocacy support, and a signing choir, all aimed at enhancing the lives of participants.

Nightingale House Hospice provides home-from-home care and specialist palliative care services for individuals with progressive or life-limited illnesses, as well as support for their families. The hospice serves a wide catchment area, including Wrexham, Flintshire, East Denbighshire, Barmouth, Oswestry, and Whitchurch.

The Alzheimer's Society is a national charity that has been established for 45 years. It offers crucial support to people living with dementia and their families, providing resources, guidance, and care to improve quality of life.

Future Fundraising Plans and Continued Commitment

Moneypenny's 'Raising Pennies' fundraising lead, Eve Douglas, shared her thoughts on the team's achievements. She stated, "Our teams had great fun coming up with creative and fun ways to raise funds for worthy causes that are close to our hearts, which were nominated by our people, and it's wonderful to know that the money raised will make a real difference to those charities."

Douglas also emphasized that the fundraising efforts are far from over. The team has already selected new charities to support in the coming year. These include Andy's Man Club, a men's suicide prevention charity; The Candy and Tibby Trust cat rescue charity; the national Ronald McDonald House charities, which provide home-from-home accommodation and support for families with seriously ill children; and the Almost Home Dog Rescue charity in North Wales.

The ongoing commitment of the 'Raising Pennies' team highlights Moneypenny's dedication to corporate social responsibility and community engagement. By fostering a culture of giving and support, the company continues to make a significant positive impact on both local and national levels.
