A mother from Solihull is on a mission to ensure no one in her community goes without a proper Christmas dinner this year, planning to cook and deliver 108 festive meals for those struggling.
A Festive Tradition Born from Friendship
Amanda O'Neill, 42, started her heart-warming initiative four years ago, inspired by a desire to teach her children about generosity and in memory of a close friend. After moving to the borough, she formed a strong bond with her neighbour, Elaine, and they discussed making Christmas about more than just receiving gifts.
What began as a small gesture has now become a significant annual effort. Following this year's deliveries, Amanda will have provided more than 220 Christmas dinners to residents in her local area since she began.
Responding to the Cost of Living Crisis
The driving force behind Amanda's expanded efforts is witnessing the severe impact of the cost of living and energy crises on families around her. Seeing neighbours and locals facing hardship, she felt compelled to act.

Amanda, who is originally from Sunderland and lives with her husband and two children, insists that "everybody deserves a full tum on Christmas Day". She focuses on providing a delicious, home-prepared festive feast that recipients would otherwise miss.
