An award-winning caravan and motorhome dealership based in Shropshire is making significant strides in its charitable mission, with its fundraising efforts for a vital local hospice service proving highly successful.
Corporate Partnership Hits Major Milestone
Salop Leisure has announced that it is firmly on track to not only meet but surpass its ambitious two-year fundraising pledge for Severn Hospice. The company committed at the start of 2025 to raise a total of £10,000 for the charity through a dedicated programme of events and business-led initiatives.
Diverse Fundraising Activities Drive Success
To date, the impressive sum of £7,880 has been generated, putting the campaign well over the halfway point. This substantial amount has been accumulated through a variety of engaging activities designed to involve both customers and the local community.
Key fundraising elements have included:
- The popular Salop Santa Dash event, which saw community participation.
- A dedicated charity auction offering unique items and experiences.
- Multiple sponsorship agreements with local groups and individuals.
The company also integrated fundraising directly into its sales operations. Throughout 2025, a donation of £5 has been made to Severn Hospice for every caravan or motorhome sold. Furthermore, Salop Leisure's on-site plant and tree centre, Love Plants, contributed £1 for every Christmas tree sold during the festive period.
Leadership Expresses Pride and Gratitude
Ed Glover, Head of Marketing at Salop Leisure, shared his enthusiasm for the campaign's progress. "We’re incredibly proud of the progress we’ve made with our two-year pledge to raise £10,000 for Severn Hospice – we are well on our way to exceeding that target," he stated.
"Thank you to all of our customers and our associates for supporting our efforts to fundraise for such an important local charity. We have lots planned for fundraising in 2026, including taking part in the annual Severn Hospice Dragon Boat Festival in July!" Glover added, highlighting the ongoing commitment.
Vital Support for Severn Hospice Services
Severn Hospice provides essential, completely free care and support to families facing incurable illness. Its services offer comfort, dignity, and peace during profoundly challenging times, relying entirely on charitable donations and community support to operate.
Hospice Fundraiser Highlights Community Impact
Holly Gibbons, Corporate Fundraiser at Severn Hospice, expressed profound gratitude for the partnership. "We are incredibly grateful to Salop Leisure and all of their customers for the amazing support – reaching over half of their £10,000 target already is a fantastic achievement," she said.
"It’s been wonderful to see the enthusiasm and commitment behind all their fundraising and I’m looking forward to working with them in planning more exciting activities and initiatives. Our services at Severn Hospice are entirely free and are made possible by the incredible generosity of our local community and businesses like Salop Leisure," Gibbons emphasised, underscoring the critical role of corporate philanthropy.
The collaboration between Salop Leisure and Severn Hospice stands as a powerful example of how local businesses can make a tangible, positive difference in their communities, supporting indispensable health and care services that benefit countless families.
