The festive season in Southport will kick off in spectacular fashion as the beloved Santa Sprint returns for its 17th year on Sunday, December 7 2025. This much-anticipated community event sees Southport's stunning coastline transformed into a vibrant sea of red and white as hundreds of participants don Santa suits to support Queenscourt Hospice.
A Festive Celebration for All Abilities
Now firmly established as a highlight of the local calendar, the Santa Sprint welcomes participants of all abilities and ages. You don't need to be a runner to join the fun – walkers, pram-pushers and dog owners are all enthusiastically welcomed. Participants can choose between two accessible routes: a 3K or 5K option, both designed to be fully wheelchair, pram and pet-friendly.
Since its inception, this heartwarming event has raised an incredible £157,000 for Queenscourt Hospice, with organisers promising this year's edition will be bigger, brighter and more festive than ever before.
Festive Entertainment and Fantastic Perks
The Christmas spirit will be palpable throughout the event, enhanced by live entertainment from The Marshside Brass Band and spectacular displays from the Southport Paddle Boarders, who will spread cheer along the coastal route. Expect laughter, music and festive magic from start to finish.
Every entry includes an impressive package of perks: a Santa suit to wear during the event, a finisher's medal to commemorate your achievement, free tea or coffee at Silcock's Funland, a round of crazy golf at Masters Crazy Golf, a carousel ride, and complimentary cake with a hot drink at The Grand.
The event starts and finishes at Silcock's Funland, creating the perfect festive atmosphere. Entry fees are set at £20 for adults, £10 for under 16s, and £50 for a family of two adults and two children. Your registration covers the Santa suit, medal and event costs, while fundraising remains optional – though every pound raised makes a genuine difference to patients and families in the local community.
