Taylor Wimpey's Festive Foodbank Donation Supports Bolton Community
Taylor Wimpey Donates to Bolton Foodbank for Christmas

In a heartwarming gesture of seasonal goodwill, national housebuilder Taylor Wimpey has delivered a generous foodbank donation to the Trussell Trust Farnworth and Kearsley Foodbank in Bolton. This timely contribution is designed to bolster the charity's vital work throughout the festive period, a time when demand for support often increases significantly.

Supporting a Neighbourhood Charity

The Farnworth and Kearsley branch of the Trussell Trust operates in close proximity to Taylor Wimpey's Lever Valley development, forging a natural link between the builder and this essential local service. The Trussell Trust is a prominent anti-poverty charity that coordinates a nationwide network of food banks, all united in a mission to end hunger across the United Kingdom.

Since its establishment in the year 2000, the charity has provided assistance to millions of people, offering not just emergency food parcels and vouchers, but also holistic support and crucial advice to those facing hardship. The scale of need is substantial; in the last year alone, the Trussell Trust network distributed an astonishing 2.9 million emergency food parcels across the UK.

A Direct Impact in Bolton

Following a dedicated collection drive at their head office in Stretford, Taylor Wimpey's donations will be channelled directly to the Bolton foodbank. This ensures that essential items are readily available to assemble emergency food parcels for local individuals and families in crisis.

Rachel Barber, Sales and Marketing Director at Taylor Wimpey Manchester, emphasised the company's community ethos. "We're proud to support the communities we build, and the Trussell Trust plays a vital role in supporting local families and individuals during hardships," she said.

"As we approach Christmas, we are reminded how important it is to work with local charities. It has been incredible to witness the Trussell Trust's sustained support for the people of Bolton over the years. At Taylor Wimpey, we are committed to continuing our support for organisations that make such a profound difference to the wider community."

Gratitude from the Frontline

Deborah Opadijo, Foodbank Manager at the Trussell Trust Farnworth and Kearsley Foodbank, expressed her gratitude for the donation. "At the Trussell Trust, we hold the firm belief that no one in the United Kingdom should need a foodbank to survive," she stated.

"Our operation is powered by 36,000 dedicated volunteers across 1,400 food bank locations. We rely entirely on the support and generosity of these volunteers, alongside individuals and companies like Taylor Wimpey, who provide us with essential food or financial donations. We are profoundly grateful for this contribution, especially as it comes so close to Christmas, a period of heightened need."

This donation underscores the critical role corporate partnerships play in supporting grassroots charitable efforts, particularly in areas like Bolton where community support structures are essential for wellbeing.
