York Charity Launches SpeedQuizzing Night to Support Tiny Lives Neonatal Appeal
The York & Scarborough Hospitals Charity is rallying local businesses and community groups to participate in a special SpeedQuizzing night to raise vital funds for the Tiny Lives Appeal. This initiative supports the Neonatal Unit at York Hospital, aiming to enhance facilities for babies and their families.

The charity has set a target of £100,000 to fund additional furnishings and equipment for the newly refurbished unit. So far, over £50,000 has been raised, and the community is encouraged to help reach the next milestone. The event, hosted by York Sports Club, offers a relaxed evening of food, friendly competition, and networking on Wednesday, July 8.
Event Details and Participation
Teams of four to six people can enter at £20 per person, which includes pizza and chips. Doors open at 5:30 PM, with the quiz starting at 6 PM. This gathering provides an opportunity for colleagues and friends to unite for a cause that impacts hundreds of local families annually.
Impact on Neonatal Care
Each year, approximately 375 babies receive care in the Neonatal Unit at York Hospital, many born prematurely or with complex health needs. A £2 million refurbishment is currently underway to create a modern environment, and the Tiny Lives Appeal will fund extra items to make the space calmer and more family-friendly.
