Tragedy has struck a Scottish community following the death of an 11-year-old girl in a suspected drug-related incident.

The young girl was rushed to hospital after falling seriously ill at her home in Helensburgh on Friday, November 14. Despite being placed into intensive care at the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow, her condition did not improve.
She died on Monday, November 17, with Police Scotland confirming they received a report about her situation around 11.40am that same day.
Community in Mourning
The girl was a pupil at Hermitage Academy in Helensburgh, and her death has sent shockwaves through the school community. Argyll and Bute Council has confirmed it is providing support to the girl's grieving family, as well as to pupils and staff affected by the loss.
A council spokesperson described the community as 'devastated' by the news, emphasising that their thoughts are with the family and friends during this 'awful time'.

An ambulance was called to the family home after loved-ones became increasingly concerned about the girl's deteriorating condition before she was transported to hospital.
