Armed Robbers Storm Sutton Coldfield Shop in Terrifying Early Morning Raid

Shocking CCTV footage has emerged showing the moment armed robbers burst into a Sutton Coldfield convenience store, threatened a cashier, and made off with thousands of pounds worth of goods. The incident occurred at the Chester Road Convenience Store on Chester Road North in New Oscott, directly opposite a large Tesco supermarket, in the early hours of Tuesday, February 17.

Masked Men Armed with Weapons

The terrifying raid took place shortly before 5 a.m., when four masked individuals entered the shop. According to reports, one robber was armed with a machete, while another was believed to be carrying a firearm. The group immediately confronted a cashier who was stationed behind the till, forcing them to open the cash register.

One of the assailants proceeded to empty the till of all banknotes and coins, stuffing the money into his pockets. He then grabbed handfuls of cigarettes from a drawer beneath the counter and stole additional items from shelves located behind the till area.

Extensive Theft and Community Alert

The other three robbers were captured on camera exiting the store with black bin bags filled with stolen merchandise. A relative of the shop's owner disclosed to local media that the total loss amounted to approximately £8,000 to £9,000 in cash, cigarettes, and vapes. The cashier was left deeply frightened by the ordeal.

In response to the robbery, a community safety alert was circulated online, warning residents and business owners about a group of four individuals allegedly targeting local businesses in the Sutton Coldfield area, particularly those offering 24/7 services. The alert emphasized that the suspects were reported to be carrying weapons, including machetes, knives, and firearms, and urged vigilance.

Descriptions of the Suspects

The CCTV footage provided clear descriptions of the robbers, all of whom were wearing bright yellow rubber gloves. The individual who threatened the cashier was dressed in a black The North Face coat with the hood up, black trousers, and white socks and trainers. A second suspect wore a light grey top with black trousers, while a third had a black coat featuring a white flash on the back and light-colored, possibly white, trousers. The fourth robber was clad entirely in black attire.
