West Midlands Police have announced a major breakthrough in the investigation into a fatal double shooting in Wolverhampton that claimed the lives of two men.
Significant Arrests Made in Homicide Probe
A 38-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murdering Duaine Mills, 28, and Syed Zain Ali, 32. The arrest took place in the Birmingham area at around 10am today, November 20. A second man, aged 34, was arrested at the same time on suspicion of assisting an offender. Both individuals remain in police custody for questioning this afternoon.
Tragic Incident on Leicester Street
The devastating event unfolded in the early hours of September 19. Police were called to Leicester Street in Wolverhampton at approximately 3.10am following reports of a shooting. Despite the efforts of emergency services, both victims, Duaine Mills and father-of-three Syed Zain Ali, were pronounced dead at the scene.
Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Inspector Jenny Birch, stated: “These arrests are a significant development in our investigation, and the families of Duaine and Syed have been updated. Our thoughts remain with them at this time, and we will continue to support them.”
