Drugs Line Smashed in Police Bust

West Midlands Police have successfully dismantled a county lines drug operation in Birmingham, leading to the imprisonment of its organiser. The case took a remarkable turn when officers discovered a suitcase containing a large quantity of drugs, which conveniently bore the dealer's own name and home address.

The Noor Line Uncovered

The investigation, led by the force's dedicated County Lines Taskforce, targeted a line known as the 'Noor Line', which was supplying Class A drugs into the Erdington area. The breakthrough came in December last year when officers stopped a car in Birmingham.

Inside the vehicle, they found Noor Khan, 47, in possession of a significant amount of individually wrapped Class A drugs. Police also seized a mobile phone believed to be the main contact point for the drug line.

A Costly Oversight: The Named Suitcase

Following Khan's arrest, officers carried out searches at addresses on Frederick Road in Stechford. At one property, they made a discovery that would seal the case. A suitcase was found to be stuffed with heroin and cocaine with an estimated street value of over £20,000.

In an astonishing lapse of judgement, the suitcase had Khan's name written on the front, along with his home address. Alongside the drugs, officers also uncovered other drug-dealing paraphernalia, including scales, a chopping board, and bags.

Justice Served at Crown Court

Noor Khan, of Frederick Road, Stechford, admitted to being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine and heroin in June this year. He was subsequently sentenced at Birmingham Crown Court on Wednesday, November 5.

The judge handed down a prison term of five years and seven months, putting an end to his criminal drug operation and removing a significant source of illegal substances from the streets of Birmingham.
