Police Investigation and Court Proceedings
In an official statement, West Midlands Police confirmed the tragic news. The incident occurred on Smallbrook Queensway shortly before 9pm on Friday, November 7.
The force stated that the victim sustained a serious injury to her neck and was rushed to hospital, where she later died.
Djeison Rafael, aged 21, has been charged in relation to the incident. He was remanded to appear at Birmingham Magistrates' Court on Monday, November 10. Police confirmed that following the victim's death, an application would be made to amend the charges.
Officers are still appealing for information and have released a description of Rafael's alleged attire, believed to be an all-grey tracksuit, black hat, trainers, and a rucksack.
