Police have confirmed the discovery of a body during the search for a man reported missing from the Midlands.
Search Ends at Thornton Reservoir
Mark Parry, a 45-year-old resident of Earl Shilton, was last seen at his home on Westfield Avenue on Wednesday, December 3. He was last in contact with a family member on the morning of Thursday, December 4, after which he was reported missing.
This prompted a significant search operation by Leicestershire Police, who appealed to the public for information regarding his whereabouts.
Police Confirm Tragic Discovery
In an update released on Saturday, December 6, officers confirmed that a body had been located at Thornton Reservoir in Leicestershire. While formal identification procedures are still pending, police believe the body to be that of the missing man.
A police spokesperson stated: "A body has been found in the search for missing Earl Shilton man Mark Parry. A body has been found at Thornton Reservoir and although formal identification is yet to take place, it is believed to be Mark."
Death Not Treated as Suspicious
Authorities have confirmed that they are not treating the death as suspicious. A file is now being prepared for HM Coroner, which is standard procedure in such cases.
