Builder Found Guilty of Murder in Dartford Following Financial Dispute
In a chilling case that has shocked the community, Dorin Ciorba, a 29-year-old builder, has been convicted of murder and robbery at Maidstone Crown Court. The victim, 62-year-old Osaretin Oronsaye, was brutally killed at his residence in Dartford, Kent, in July last year.
CCTV Captures Killer's Nonchalant Escape
Surveillance footage shows the spine-tingling moment Ciorba calmly cycles away from the crime scene, rummaging through a bag just moments after the murder. Officers reported that he traveled to Dartford by train from London, rode his bicycle to Mr. Oronsaye's home, and committed the killing—reportedly involving stabbing and throttling—before departing and catching a train back to the capital.
Evidence and Arrest Details
Upon returning to London, Ciorba promptly used Mr. Oronsaye's bank cards for multiple purchases, as confirmed by Kent Police. He was apprehended at his residence in Barking, East London, on July 17. During a search of the premises, detectives recovered the victim's bank cards, vehicle keys, and documentation related to a small claims court matter between the two individuals.
Officers noted that this paperwork had been delivered the night before the murder, highlighting the financial dispute that likely motivated the crime.
Police Statement on the Case
Detective Chief Inspector Neil Kimber stated, "Ciorba calmly traveled from London to carry out this senseless murder and truly believed he had gotten away with his crime. He arrogantly used Mr. Oronsaye's bank cards after searching online for reports of a murder and kept hold of the items he had taken from the murder scene."
He added, "This case shows that no matter how calculated an offender believes they are, they will not get away with such appalling violence. I hope this verdict provides Osaretin's family and friends with some comfort and will give them time to grieve their loved one."
