CCTV Appeal After £3k Theft from 90-Year-Old

West Midlands Police have launched a public appeal for information after a 90-year-old man was targeted by thieves who stole £3,000 in cash from his car.

CCTV Captures Brazen Theft

The incident occurred on Stone Street in Dudley at approximately 10:20 am on 20 October. The elderly victim had just withdrawn the substantial sum of money and placed it, along with other personal documents, into the boot of his vehicle.

CCTV footage released by the police shows the vulnerable man getting into the driver's seat of his car. Moments later, one of the suspects is seen approaching the vehicle. The individual boldly opens the boot, reaches inside, and makes off with the cash while the victim is completely unaware.

Police Hunt for Three Men

Investigators have confirmed that the footage shows three men in the area who were following the victim. The force has now released CCTV images of these individuals and is urging the public to help identify them.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police stated: "We're asking for the public's help to identify three men after a 90-year-old man had £3,000 stolen from his car. We'd like to speak with each of the men in the images so if you recognise them or have any information that could help our officers investigating, please get in touch with us."
