A man in his thirties was rushed to hospital after being slashed by a group of people armed with weapons on a residential street in Shirley.
Police and Ambulance Response
Emergency services were called to Longmore Road at approximately 6pm on Thursday, November 20, following reports of a violent disturbance. West Midlands Police and West Midlands Ambulance Service attended the scene, where they discovered a male victim with slash wounds.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed: "We were called to reports of a stabbing on Longmore Road in Shirley, Solihull at 6.04pm, yesterday, and sent an ambulance to the scene. On arrival, crews found a man who they treated for potentially serious injuries before conveying him to hospital under emergency driving conditions."
Scene Sealed Off for Investigation
In the aftermath of the attack, Longmore Road was sealed off by police to allow for a thorough forensic examination. Officers conducted door-to-door enquiries, interviewed potential witnesses, and retrieved CCTV footage from the area as part of their ongoing investigation.
Thankfully, the victim's injuries, while serious, were confirmed by authorities as not life-threatening or life-changing. He received treatment at the scene before being transported to hospital for further care.

Solihull Police have launched a public appeal for information to identify those responsible. A force representative stated: "We are appealing for witnesses after a man was attacked by a group of people in Shirley. We were called to reports of a man being attacked by a group of people with weapons in Longmore Road, Shirley, at around 6pm yesterday. An investigation has been launched to identify those involved, and enquiries are ongoing."
