A serving police officer from the Midlands has been charged with stealing cash and jewellery while carrying out his official duties.
Officer Faces Three Counts of Theft
Pc Robert Davies, aged 48 and based with Warwickshire Police, is accused of three separate counts of theft involving cash and property. The alleged incidents are said to have taken place during the course of his police work on dates between November 2023 and February 2024.
The charges follow an investigation directed by the Independent Office for Police Conduct's (IOPC) anti-corruption unit. The probe was initiated after Warwickshire Police made a referral to the watchdog in October last year.
Investigation and Prosecution Path
The investigation into the alleged misconduct was conducted by Warwickshire Police under the close supervision of the IOPC. Upon its completion, a comprehensive file of evidence was compiled and passed to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) for a decision.
The CPS, after reviewing the evidence, made the decision to authorise the criminal charges against the officer. The IOPC, acting as the police watchdog, confirmed this step in the process.
Court Appearance Scheduled
Pc Davies is scheduled to make his first court appearance to answer the charges. He will face magistrates at the Warwick Justice Centre in Leamington Spa.
His hearing is set for Friday, December 5, 2025. The case will now begin its journey through the judicial system.
