Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following a fatal crash in Lye that claimed the life of a man in his 40s.
The incident occurred on Balds Lane, near the junction with Gibbs Road, at approximately 9:30am on Monday, June 15. The man's vehicle collided with a wall, resulting in critical injuries.
Emergency services rushed to the scene, where police officers and bystanders were already administering CPR. Despite their efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
West Midlands Police have confirmed that the man's family has been informed and is receiving support.
A force spokesperson said: "We're appealing for information following a fatal collision in Lye this morning. Officers were called to Balds Lane at around 9:30am after a car collided with a wall. Sadly, despite the best efforts of emergency services, a man in his 40s was pronounced dead at the scene."
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone who was in the area at the time, particularly those with dashcam footage, to come forward.
"Investigators ask that anyone who was in the area at the time and has dashcam footage or information contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit," the spokesperson added.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson described the scene: "Crews arrived to find the driver of the car, a man, in a critical condition receiving CPR by police and bystanders. The team of WMAS medics quickly took over resuscitation but, despite the best efforts of everyone, nothing could be done to save the man and he was confirmed deceased a short time later."
