New police data has laid bare the most violent streets in a Birmingham district where a man was tragically stabbed to death at the weekend.
Fatal Incident on Swanage Road
A man was pronounced dead at the scene on Swanage Road in Small Heath on Saturday, December 20. Emergency services were called to reports of a seriously injured individual at around 6.40pm. Despite their efforts, nothing could be done to save him.

October's Crime Hotspots Revealed
Figures from police.uk, published in the wake of the killing, show the scale of violence and sexual offences reported in the area. In October 2025 alone, 125 such crimes were reported to West Midlands Police across Small Heath.
The data identifies four streets as particular hotspots for that month:

Police statuses for these incidents were: five under investigation, two awaiting court outcome, two unable to prosecute, and one investigation complete with no suspect identified.
- Alcester Street: This longer thoroughfare had eight violent or sexual offences reported. The Crown Prosecution Service was unable to prosecute in six cases, with the other two under investigation.
- Bradford Street: Six crimes were recorded here. Outcomes included two investigations closed with no suspect, two under investigation, and two listed as 'unable to prosecute'.
- Hodnet Grove: Five offences were reported, with four still under investigation and one case closed with no suspect found.
