Three men have been arrested on suspicion of wounding following a violent incident at a large gathering in Smethwick on the night of May 26. Police were called to Foundry Lane after reports of disorder, where they found two men with stab wounds. One of the victims, a 21-year-old, remains in a serious condition in hospital.
Arrests Made
A 19-year-old man and two 18-year-olds have been taken into custody on suspicion of wounding. They are currently being held for questioning.
Police Appeal
Detective Inspector Francis Nock from West Midlands Police said: “Serious violence and the use of weapons on our streets impacts communities, causes fear and will not be tolerated. We will have officers in the area today to offer reassurance to the local community and would ask anyone with information to get in touch.”
Officers are conducting CCTV inquiries and speaking to witnesses. Police are also aware of footage being shared on social media and are urging people not to circulate it.
