Police Stop Leads to Drug Arrests

A teenager and a man have been arrested in Tamworth on suspicion of drug dealing following a proactive police operation. The incident occurred on Wednesday, 5 November, just after 3pm, when officers from Staffordshire Police's major and organised crime proactive team stopped and searched two individuals in the Staffordshire town.

Seizure of Class A Drugs and Cash

During the searches, police discovered a quantity of suspected heroin and crack cocaine, both Class A drugs. Officers also seized cash and a mobile phone at the scene. A second phone was recovered later that same day, furthering the investigation.

Suspects Arrested and Released

The two people arrested were a 17-year-old boy from the Oldbury area of Sandwell and a 52-year-old man from Tamworth. The teenager was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a Class A drug, being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine, and possession of a Class B drug (cannabis/cannabis resin). The man was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine and possession with intent to supply a Class A drug (crack cocaine).

Following their arrest, the 17-year-old was released on conditional bail, while the 52-year-old man was released under investigation. The police investigation into the matter is ongoing.
