Woman Appears in Court Over Fatal House Fire
A 45-year-old woman has been charged with murder and arson with intent to endanger life following the tragic death of a four-year-old girl in a house fire in Manchester.
Carrin Wibier, of Gateshead Close in Rusholme, is scheduled to appear at Manchester Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, 7 January 2026. The charges relate to a devastating incident that occurred on Sunday, 2 March 2025.
Tragic Loss of 'Beautiful' Lesma-Rose
The victim has been named as Lesma-Rose Wibier, who lost her life following a blaze at a property on Gateshead Close. In a heartfelt tribute released after her death, her family described her as the star of the family.
"Lesma-Rose was the most beautiful girl inside and out," the family statement said. "She always had a smile on her face and could put the same on others. She was such a smart and intelligent girl in her own unique ways, and she will be deeply missed by anyone who was blessed to meet her."

Greater Manchester Police confirmed the charges in a statement issued on Tuesday, 6 January 2026. A spokesperson said: "Carrin Wibier (14/05/1980) of Gateshead Close, Rusholme, has been charged with murder and arson with intent to endanger life."
