Woman Critically Injured in City Centre Attack

A woman remains in a critical condition in hospital after suffering what police have described as an unprovoked stabbing in the heart of Birmingham. The violent incident occurred on Smallbrook Queensway at approximately 9pm on Thursday, November 7.

Police Investigation and Arrest

The victim, a woman in her 30s, sustained a serious neck injury during the assault. Emergency services rushed her to hospital, where she continues to fight for her life. West Midlands Police confirmed that a man in his 20s was arrested close to the scene and remains in custody.

Detective Inspector James Nix stated: "We believe this was an unprovoked attack and are working to understand why it happened. We're not currently looking for anyone else in connection with this incident."
