Solihull MP Opposes 300-Home Knowle Green Belt Development
Solihull MP Opposes Knowle Green Belt Housing Plan

Meriden and Solihull East MP Saqib Bhatti has voiced strong opposition to a proposed housing estate on green belt land in Knowle. Developer Richborough Estates seeks to build 300 homes at Golden End Farm, north of Kenilworth Road, with half designated as affordable housing. The plans also include a community park, children's play areas, and walking and cycling infrastructure.

Developer's Argument

Planning agents Delta Planning argue that the 15-hectare site is in a highly sustainable location with good access to education. They claim the benefits of the proposals significantly outweigh the small number of factors weighing against them.

MP's Objection

MP Bhatti has publicly shared his objection letter, calling the scheme inappropriate and unjustified. He states: 'The proposal is contrary to key planning policies intended to safeguard the green belt and prevent harmful urban expansion in protected rural areas.' Bhatti also criticises the lack of infrastructure improvements and notes that he has received significant correspondence from concerned residents.
