South Bristol's 510-Home Centric Parc Scheme Advances with Planning Submission
South Bristol's 510-Home Plan Takes Key Step Forward

Ambitious plans to construct hundreds of new homes in South Bristol have taken a significant step forward, marking a pivotal moment for local housing and community infrastructure.

Detailed Plans for Centric Parc Revealed

Housebuilder Allison Homes South West has formally submitted a Reserved Matters planning application to Bristol City Council for its Longmoor development, now branded as Centric Parc. This submission, made in November 2025, follows the granting of outline planning permission in 2023.

The detailed application outlines designs for 510 properties, with a firm commitment that at least 30% will be affordable housing. This move directly addresses the pressing need for diverse housing options in the region.

A Vision for a Sustainable Community

The proposals extend far beyond housing, envisioning a fully-integrated neighbourhood. Key amenities include a new 1,334 sqft community space, a traditional village green at the southern end of the site, and a dedicated children's play area.

Emphasis is placed on green living and connectivity, with plans for:

  • Improved walking and cycling routes linking Longmoor to Ashton Vale.
  • Creation of 'green corridors' and new wetland habitats to support local biodiversity.

The development of this site has been a long-term prospect, having been first identified for housing in 2009 and formally allocated in Bristol's Local Plan.

Collaboration and Future Prospects

The planning submission follows a public consultation with residents and stakeholders in Ashton Vale. Glyn Mabey, Managing Director of Allison Homes South West appointed in June 2025, stated the plan reflects a "carefully considered vision for a sustainable new neighbourhood."

He emphasised that the project delivers "much-needed homes, community facilities, and green spaces for South Bristol," while also incorporating local feedback and contributing to wider priorities.

Allison Homes Group, which operates across the South West, East of England, and Midlands, is actively expanding its portfolio in the West Country, including a recent site acquisition in North Somerset for 70 new homes.
