A 19-year-old man has been sentenced to prison after police uncovered more than 40 bags of cocaine during a routine traffic stop in Tamworth. Rufat Ademaj, who has no fixed address, appeared at Stafford Crown Court on Thursday, May 21, where he received a sentence of two years and nine months.
Details of the Offences
Ademaj pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including possession with intent to supply a Class A drug (cocaine), being concerned in the supply of cocaine, possession of criminal property, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence, and driving without insurance. The court heard that officers stopped his grey Citroën in Amington, Tamworth, at the end of March.
Evidence Found in Vehicle
During the search, police discovered a total of 42 bags of cocaine, nearly £700 in cash, and several mobile phones. The seized cash and drugs have been ordered to be forfeited. In addition to the prison term, Ademaj was ordered to pay a surcharge of £228.
