Body Discovered in Water at Wolverley Road

A woman has been found dead in a canal lock in Kidderminster after emergency services responded to reports of someone in the water. The alarm was raised shortly before 8am on June 22, prompting a swift response from police, paramedics, and the Midlands Air Ambulance.

The incident took place near Wolverley Road in Wolverley, Kidderminster. Despite the best efforts of medical crews, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: "We were called to an incident on Wolverley Road in Wolverley, Kidderminster at 8.06am and sent two ambulances, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance to the scene. On arrival, crews found a woman in a critical condition and immediately began administering advanced life support. Sadly, despite best efforts, nothing could be done to save her and she was confirmed dead at the scene."

Police Confirm No Suspicious Circumstances

West Mercia Police have confirmed that the death is not being treated as suspicious. A police spokesperson said: "We received a call around 7.50am this morning (22 June) with a report of somebody being in the water near to Wolverley Road in Wolverley. Officers arrived and sadly the body of a woman was found. The circumstances are not being treated as suspicious, with no third-party involvement and a file will be prepared for the coroner."

An inquest will be held in due course to determine the exact cause of death. The woman's identity has not yet been released, pending formal identification and notification of next of kin.
