Free Summer Nature Event at Jesmond Dene

Northumberland Wildlife Trust is inviting members of the public to celebrate the wonders of summer at a nature-themed event in Newcastle this July. On Saturday, July 4, between 10.30am and 3.30pm at Jesmond Dene in Newcastle, the wildlife charity will be hosting minibeast hunts, bushcraft and survival skills activities, as well as plenty of nature-based craft sessions.

Collaboration with Local Organisations

Working alongside organisations including the 4th Newcastle Scouts group and Anxious Minds - the multi-award-winning veteran community mental health charity, the day will showcase just some of the amazing opportunities and work going on in the area relating to many different aspects of nature - conservation, rewilding, sport and outdoor activities and research. Organisers hope people will leave the event more excited about and engaged in their local environment. Whether people attending are seasoned explorers or new to nature, there is something for everybody.

Additional Attractions and Activities

Alongside the activities, visitors can explore Pets’ Corner, enjoy the children’s playground, or take a stroll through the beautiful Jesmond Dene along the Ouseburn River. The event is open to everyone and completely free of charge. For more information on the day, visit www.nwt.org.uk/events. The event is part of the wildlife charity’s Championing Nature Project and has been made possible by The Championships, Wimbledon and Emirates.
