The family of a much-loved Birmingham father have spoken of their unimaginable heartbreak after his life was tragically cut short in a suspected hit-and-run incident.
Dean Jones, 42, described by his devastated family as an "amazing father and partner", died following a collision on Bristol Road South in Northfield during the early hours of Saturday morning.
A Life Taken Too Soon
In an emotional statement released through West Midlands Police, Dean's heartbroken family painted a picture of a man who was the centre of their world.
"Dean was a fantastic father to his two children and an amazing partner," they said. "He was a kind, caring man who would do anything for anyone. He was our world and we are absolutely devastated that he has been taken from us."
Appeal for Information
The tragic incident occurred around 12.30am on Saturday, 14th March, when emergency services were called to Bristol Road South near its junction with Middleton Hall Road.
Despite the best efforts of paramedics, Dean was pronounced dead at the scene. Police believe he was involved in a collision with a vehicle that failed to stop.
West Midlands Police have launched a thorough investigation and are urgently appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
Community in Mourning
The news has sent shockwaves through the Northfield community, where Dean was well-known and respected. Local residents have expressed their sympathy for the family, with many describing the incident as "truly heartbreaking".
Police are particularly interested in speaking to anyone who may have dashcam footage from the area around the time of the incident, or anyone who witnessed anything suspicious on Bristol Road South between midnight and 1am on Saturday.
