Chloe Madeley has offered a revealing response to swirling rumours that her former husband, rugby star James Haskell, is in discussions to join the cast of the popular reality series Celebs Go Dating.
A Telling Instagram Response
The daughter of TV presenters Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan was directly asked about the speculation during a recent Instagram Q&A session. A fan queried, 'James on celebs go dating', accompanied by a face-palm emoji.
Chloe, a personal trainer, did not hold back in her reply. "If true he'll be a highly entertaining watch, I know that much," she wrote, adding a crying-with-laughter emoji for emphasis. The comment suggests a level of amused detachment three years after the couple's separation.
The End of a Marriage and New Beginnings
Madeley and Haskell, 40, shocked their followers when they announced their divorce in 2023, shortly after welcoming their daughter, Bodhi. Reflecting on the split later, Chloe was candid about their difficulties.
"The last year of the marriage was awful. It was so dark, painful, and one of the worst periods of my life. It’s a good thing we ended it," she revealed. She expressed pride in herself for calling time on the union and has since framed the divorce as a positive step forward.
The former couple now successfully co-parent their young daughter.
James Haskell's Post-Split Moves
Since the marriage breakdown, the former rugby ace and DJ has been linked to several women, including Big Brother star Sara McLean. His potential next move, however, appears to be into the world of structured reality television.
Insiders told The Sun that E4 producers are keen to sign him for the upcoming series of Celebs Go Dating, where celebrities are set up on dates by experts Paul C Brunson and Anna Williamson.
"They think he’d be brilliant because he’s not only a decent name for them, he’s genuinely very funny and they think he could charm the ladies," a source claimed. While James is reportedly open to the idea, no contract has been signed as he continues to consider the offer.
Whether Haskell takes the plunge or not, Chloe Madeley's reaction indicates she expects it would make for must-see television.
