BBC presenter Claudia Winkleman brought a touch of television glamour to Birmingham city centre last week, drawing crowds and warm praise from locals.
A Star Sighting in Grand Central
The Traitors host was spotted at Birmingham New Street Station and Grand Central on Thursday, 8 January 2026. She was filming alongside musician MIKA for an upcoming series of the popular Channel 4 show, The Piano.
As a production crew set up, a crowd soon gathered, eager to catch a glimpse of the famous face. Rather than staying behind the scenes, Winkleman took time to engage with onlookers, an act that left a lasting positive impression.

The public's reaction was overwhelmingly favourable, with many commenting on her approachable and genuine nature. Student Iona Woods, 27, noted the contrast between her TV personas and her real-self.
"I like the dark, twisted, and intense version on The Traitors," she said. "But in person, she is so friendly. People were asking for photos and even if the directors were hurrying her up, she would say, 'Just a quick picture!'"
This kindness was further displayed as Winkleman was seen cooing to babies in the crowd and offering a pep-talk to the young contestant about to perform live on the station's public piano.
From Strictly to The Traitors: A Versatile Presenter
The visit highlighted Winkleman's successful career hosting a diverse range of programmes. She has fronted BBC's Strictly Come Dancing for 15 years, though the latest series will be her last on the dancing show.
She also presents the hugely popular BBC reality series The Traitors, currently in its fourth season, and Channel 4's heartwarming The Piano, which was the reason for her Birmingham trip.
Local teenagers Tia Ash, 16, and her friend Kate summed up the general sentiment. "I love Claudia Winkleman. Her hair's nice, too," said Tia. Kate agreed, adding, "Yeah, she's a nice person. Everybody always says she's so lovely and down-to-earth."
The filming stint proved that despite her star status, Winkleman's down-to-earth charm continues to win over audiences, both on screen and off.
