Former Coronation Street actress Georgia May Foote has described 2025 as the "worst year" of her life, following a devastating fire that destroyed her beauty business and a series of personal setbacks.
Salon Destroyed and Personal Struggles
Taking to Instagram on 31 December 2025, the star, who played Katy Armstrong on the ITV soap for five years until 2015, shared a candid post about her annus horribilis. She revealed that a fire which gutted her Greater Manchester beauty salon earlier in the year was a crushing blow, compounded by other private difficulties.
"2025. Nope worst year I've ever had in my life," Foote wrote. "I couldn't catch a break." She expressed deep gratitude for the support of friends and family during the turmoil, stating it was so bad she struggled to find a single happy period to post about online.
A Fight for Resilience
The actress explained that the stress of the year caused her vitiligo, a skin condition, to flare up severely, leading to a significant loss of confidence. "When the fire happened I really didn't think it could get any worse," she confessed. However, she emphasised her determination, calling herself a "fighter" who is "so strong" and "so resilient."
Foote established the nail salon after finding acting work hard to secure following her stint on Strictly Come Dancing in 2015 and roles in series like The Outpost. The fire in June 2025 was a major setback, and she had previously shared details online to raise funds for rebuilding.
Looking Forward with Hope
In her heartfelt message, Foote urged her followers to be kind and to stay strong if they are struggling. "Life is hard. But we only get the one," she reflected. She reminded herself and others that difficult circumstances are not permanent, writing: "one day I WILL have the life I deserve because I am kind."
The year also saw Foote allegedly separate from her husband, Kris Evans. Rumours of a divorce began circulating in June when she removed all references to him from her social media and was pictured without her wedding ring. The couple has not publicly commented on the speculation.
Despite the profound challenges, Georgia May Foote's message ended on a note of perseverance, focusing on finding small moments of happiness and love each day.
