Former Atomic Kitten singer Jenny Frost has shared an emotional yet uplifting update about her beloved pet cat, Zig, who has survived two separate cancer diagnoses.
A Feisty Fighter's Health Journey
Taking to Instagram, the pop star and television presenter revealed that her 'feisty' cat Zig has been through an immense health struggle since December 2020. It was then that veterinarians first diagnosed him with cancer, leading to the surgical removal of both his ears.
Jenny was keen to stress that her post was 'Not a sad post!!', instead choosing to celebrate her pet's resilience. The story took another difficult turn in November 2025, when Zig was diagnosed with cancer for a second time, this time in his remaining healthy eye.
Life After Surgery
The second diagnosis meant Zig had to have his eye removed, leaving him with only one mildly functioning eye to go with being earless. Despite these profound changes, Jenny describes him as being 'cuter than ever' and more affectionate.
She wrote fondly of his indomitable spirit, stating: 'I am truly obsessed with his zero F’s attitude to life. Casually beating cancer twice & more cuddly than ever.' Her followers were quick to flood the comments with support, calling Zig a 'fighter' and a 'brave soldier'.
A Decade-Long Bond
Jenny also shared the charming story of how Zig came into her life ten years ago. She found him as a kitten and immediately called her now-husband, Spanish scuba diver Vicente (Vin) Juan Spiteri, to say they needed to keep him.
Despite Vin being fully allergic to cats and initially saying no, Jenny joked that due to bad phone signal, she didn't hear his refusal. She now credits him as the 'best husband' for accepting Zig, who became the 'best cat'.
Jenny, who replaced Kerry Katona in Atomic Kitten in 2001, is now a mother to twin daughters who turn 13 next week, and has another child from a previous relationship with DJ Dominic Thrupp. She has since built a successful career in television, presenting shows like BBC Three's 'Snog Marry Avoid?' and Channel 5's 'The Wright Stuff'.
