Princess Eugenie has reportedly severed communication with her father, Prince Andrew, in a significant family estrangement described as being on the level of the well-publicised Brooklyn Beckham feud.
A 'Devastating' Family Rift
A source speaking to the Mail on Sunday revealed there is currently 'no contact at all' between the Princess and the former Duke of York. The estrangement is said to have left Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, who was stripped of his royal titles last year, feeling 'devastated'.
The situation was highlighted over the Christmas period when both Princess Eugenie and her sister, Princess Beatrice, chose to spend the festive season with the wider Royal Family at Sandringham, rather than with their father. While Beatrice is attempting to maintain a delicate balance, the source indicated that Eugenie has made a clearer choice.
Walking a Fine Line vs. Cutting Ties
'Beatrice is trying to walk the fine line of not cutting her father off and yet remaining close with the Royal Family,' the insider explained. 'They aren't exactly in regular and close contact at the moment, but Eugenie isn't trying to walk that line. She's not speaking to him.'
This personal blow comes amidst the ongoing controversy surrounding Prince Andrew's past association with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein, which continues to cast a long shadow over his life and relationships.
Mounting Troubles for the Former Duke
The reported family rift is the latest in a series of setbacks for Andrew. In October, he was forced to relinquish the lease on his lavish 30-room Windsor residence, Royal Lodge. Recent days have seen removal vans at the property, as he faces a reported deadline to vacate by next weekend.
His belongings are currently being stored in a South London warehouse protected by 24-hour security. It is widely believed he will relocate to Marsh Farm on the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, although Buckingham Palace has not confirmed this move.
The Mirror has contacted representatives for both Princess Eugenie and Prince Andrew for comment on the situation.
