Known for his popular jacket potato videos that have garnered millions of followers, Spudman operates from St Editha's Square in Tamworth, where fans often queue for hours to sample his spuds.
A Customer's Touching Mission
In a video titled 'this broke my heart', Spudman recounted an interaction with a customer that profoundly affected him. He described how a lovely lady approached his trailer on April 5 and ordered a potato, but her visit was not for herself. Instead, she was there to fulfill an item on her late husband's bucket list.
Spudman explained: "She told me it was on our husband's bucket list, I look around and her husband is not there. I just instantly knew what she meant. I grabbed her hand, she started crying and I started crying."
An Emotional Moment Shared
The encounter quickly turned into a heartfelt moment as both Spudman and the customer were overcome with emotion. He emphasized the sweetness of the gesture, saying it was the absolute sweetest thing. In his social media post, Spudman addressed the late husband directly, stating: "Mike, you weren't there but we ticked one off your bucket list for you mate. You weren't forgotten."
This story highlights how Spudman's humble potato stall has become more than just a food destination; it's a place where personal stories and memories intersect, creating meaningful connections in the community.
