Olivia Attwood, Pete Wicks & Luba Mushtuk Reveal Why They're Alone for Christmas 2025
UK Celebs Spending Christmas 2025 Alone

While festive gatherings dominate the season, a number of prominent UK celebrities have announced they will be spending Christmas Day 2025 in solitude, each with deeply personal reasons for their quiet celebrations.

Olivia Attwood's Hotel Retreat Amid Chaotic Move

Olivia Attwood has decided to spend the holiday in a London hotel, accompanied only by her dogs. The 34-year-old television presenter and former Love Island star is currently in the midst of a stressful relocation from her Cheshire mansion to a new London property.

With her husband, footballer Bradley Dack, away playing for Gillingham FC over the festive period, Attwood opted for a break from the chaos of her half-unpacked home. She revealed her plans on her shared podcast with Pete Wicks, 'Sunday Roast'.

"I'm staying in London but going to a hotel," she explained, noting her family celebrations were already complete. She described the move as emotionally draining, with boxes filling every space in her temporary accommodation.

The 'Bad Boyfriends' host has booked a hotel just ten minutes from her new house, stating she needed a physical and mental break. She remains hopeful of being fully settled in her London flat by the end of January.

Pete Wicks Grieves a Beloved Pet

For reality star Pete Wicks, a recent tragic loss has shaped his Christmas plans. The 37-year-old former TOWIE star will be spending the day alone following the death of his dog, Peggy, from meningitis about a month ago.

"I don't like Christmas," Wicks admitted, explaining that the loss has made this year's festivities particularly difficult. He plans to retreat from celebrations entirely.

"Basically, I'm going to be like a hibernating bear," he said on the 'Staying Relevant' podcast. He shared that his remaining dog, Eric, has been staying close to him as they both adjust to life without Peggy.

Luba Mushtuk's Choice of Solitude

In contrast, Strictly Come Dancing professional Luba Mushtuk is enthusiastically embracing a solo Christmas Day by choice. Despite appearing in the BBC show's festive special, she has deliberately reserved December 25th for herself.

Appearing on ITV's Loose Women, Mushtuk outlined her unique plans while fellow guest Nicholas Bailey discussed family gatherings.

"I am painting my walls. I am, by choice, on my own," the dancer revealed. "I'm going to have a lovely time. I just felt like I need some time, on my own, have some ice cream. Watch some movies."

These candid revelations from Attwood, Wicks, and Mushtuk highlight the diverse personal circumstances that can lead to a solitary Christmas, challenging the traditional expectation of mandatory festive gatherings and emphasising the importance of personal wellbeing during the holiday season.
