A pensioner from the Midlands has vowed to never visit a pub again after being hit with a £60 parking fine at a pub in Fazeley, near Tamworth.
The Incident at The Plough and Harrow
The angry OAP visited The Plough and Harrow with his daughter at night. He failed to notice a warning sign in the darkness, leading to the fine. Taking to social media, the pensioner launched an expletive-filled tirade at the pub, saying he would 'never ever visit any pub for as long as I shall live.' He also told the venue it could 'go to hell' and complained that it was too dark to see the signs.
Pub's Response
The Plough and Harrow screenshotted the abusive messages, keeping the pensioner's identity anonymous, and shared the exchange on social media to highlight unacceptable behaviour. The establishment posted a firm message about respecting staff, stating: 'However, there is absolutely no excuse for abusive, aggressive or threatening language towards our staff - online or in person!' The pub stressed they remain willing to help customers with genuine concerns handled professionally and respectfully.
Public Reaction
The incident has sparked debate online, with some sympathising with the pensioner's frustration over the fine, while others condemned his abusive language. The pub has reiterated its commitment to treating all customers fairly but insists on respectful communication.
