His family recalled, "He was a devoted Liverpool FC fan and, when he wasn’t with his children, he would be watching his team play (or sometimes both)."
In his personal life, Lee had recently met a new partner, Amelia Brookes, who was also in the car at the time of the crash. She was taken to hospital and later discharged. Although their relationship was brief, Lee's love and kindness left a lasting impression on her.
