Hinckley's Festive Walking Trail: Win Prizes at Christmas Lights Switch-On
Hinckley Christmas lights switch-on: festive trail & prizes

Residents and visitors in Hinckley are invited to a magical start to the festive season with a special Christmas lights switch-on event that features an exciting family walking trail.

Festive Fun for All the Family

The event, organised by Active Hinckley and Bosworth in partnership with Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council, takes place on Friday, November 21. This year's celebrations include a unique festive walking trail where participants can gather Christmas symbols to solve a puzzle along designated routes.

Those walking from Hollycroft Park car park, Clarendon Park car park (either Roston Drive or Coventry Road entrances), or Hinckley Hub car park can participate in the trail. After completing the challenge, participants should present their answer to the Choose How You Move team in the Marketplace to receive a prize.

Parking and Transport Information

Significant parking changes will be in effect to accommodate the event. All council-operated car parks in Hinckley will offer free parking from 3pm on the day, with the Hinckley Hub car park remaining open until 9pm.

Church Walk car park will be unavailable for parking from midnight on Thursday, November 20 until 10pm on November 21 as it will host additional market stalls. Similarly, Trinity East car park will close from midnight on Wednesday, November 19 until 7am on November 23 to accommodate extra Tin Hat fair rides.

For those cycling to the event, a free manned bike park will be available at Church Walk car park.

Council Leader's Festive Message

Council leader Stuart Bray expressed his enthusiasm for the new addition to the annual celebrations: "We're pleased to introduce this festive walking trail as part of the Christmas light switch-on celebrations this year. It's a wonderful opportunity for families and friends to enjoy the town, solve a fun puzzle, and experience the magic of the season together."

He added: "We hope everyone will join us and make this event a memorable start to Christmas in Hinckley and Bosworth."

Trail cards can be downloaded from the Active Hinckley and Bosworth website, or participants can look for the first trail marker in the participating car parks.
