Beyond The Shoreline Exhibition in Modbury

Six Artists Unite for a Shared Passion

The Plymouth Arts Collective, a group of six artists united by their love for creativity, has launched a new art exhibition titled 'Beyond The Shoreline' at The Brownston Gallery in Modbury. The exhibition showcases a rich variety of works, from local seascapes to vibrant street scenes, reflecting the diverse talents of the collective's members: Michael Battley, Derek Haydon, Robert Housely-Jeive, Stephen Ladds, Sharon Shaw, and Richard Stimpson.

Diverse Mediums and Styles

The artists work in multiple mediums, including oil, acrylic, watercolour, and pencil. Their artwork spans traditional landscapes, figurative pieces, and still life compositions, each bringing a unique perspective. According to the collective, the diversity of styles, subject matter, and techniques creates a varied and engaging collection that appeals to a wide range of tastes.

From Art Club to Collective

The group originally met through membership in a Plymouth-based arts club, where their shared enthusiasm for creativity and artistic expression fostered lasting friendships. Beyond the joy of creating art, the collective values the opportunity to exhibit their work and connect with the community. 'Beyond the Shoreline' represents their first major exhibition as a group.
