Love Island series 12 winner Cach Mercer has spoken out for the first time about his split from Toni Laities after their rumoured argument at the BRIT Awards earlier this year. The couple, who won the show in 2025, have been the subject of speculation following reports of a heated exchange at the ceremony.
What Really Happened at the BRIT Awards?
Speaking on the 'Cocktails and Takeaways' podcast, Cach revealed the truth behind the alleged row. He explained: "Me and her [Toni] had a conversation at the BRITS. It was an argument, but it wasn't a mad massive row, people storming off or whatever which I saw in the press."
Cach clarified that they were not even seated together. "She was in a different room, I was on the main floor. There's boxes at the BRITS, she was in a box," he said, dismissing rumours that he had stormed away from their table.
Current Relationship Status
Despite the split, Cach revealed that they are still on good terms. "We were cool at the BRITS. I would say that we were together at the BRITS, but things were a little bit rocky. You know we were still figuring stuff out," he explained. He added that they attended the event with different brands but were still together at the time.
Online Hate and Moving Forward
Cach also addressed the online hate he has received since the breakup. "People don't even understand or have any insight into what happened between us two. Me and her have chosen not to voice it, just because we've chosen not to, but we're still cool and everything," he said. He urged fans not to pick sides when they don't know the full story.
The former Love Island star's candid interview sheds light on the couple's private struggles, offering a more nuanced perspective than the tabloid reports suggested.
