Ben Turner, a 49-year-old father of two, has reached the finals of the Spitfire Comedy Awards in the coveted One Liner Comedian of the Year category. The semi-professional comic, who balances his act with fatherhood and a day job in public relations, was thrilled by the nomination.
"It was a lovely surprise to be nominated," Ben joked. "I haven’t really won anything of note before apart from a tray of meat in a pub raffle so it would it be great if people could vote so I could bring home the bacon to the wonderful Wirral!"
