Historic Gardens of Easton Lodge Summer Open Day with Family Activities
Easton Lodge Gardens Summer Open Day July 12

The historic Gardens of Easton Lodge in Great Dunmow are set to host a summer open day packed with family activities on Sunday, July 12, from 11am to 5pm. Visitors can expect a day filled with learning opportunities about native birds of prey and local wildlife, along with a variety of entertainment and interactive experiences.

Live Falconry Display and Wildlife Discovery

A highlight of the event will be a live display by Fens Falconry at 2pm, offering an exciting opportunity to see birds of prey up close. Attendees can also explore the Gardens' lilypond and wild grasses to discover the creatures that inhabit these areas. A special family trail around the grounds will highlight the animals and birds that were dear to the Countess of Warwick, the Victorian owner of the estate. The trust's archivists will present a unique display exploring the Countess's historic involvement with natural history organisations.

Archery, Music, and Refreshments

White Dragon Archery will be available throughout the day for visitors who want to test their skills and try to hit the bullseye. Musical entertainment will be provided by the Harlow Concert Band, who will play to welcome guests from 11.30am to 1.30pm. A wide selection of refreshments will be available, including homemade cakes, vegan snacks from the catering kiosk, and hot food from the Giggly Pig.
