31 Reasons Thousands Are Heading to Birmingham This Weekend

The Colmore Food Festival returns to Birmingham city centre this Friday, July 3 and Saturday, July 4, as part of the Birmingham Super Weekend. Last year, the event attracted 75,000 visitors to Victoria Square, and this year's lineup promises even more with top-rated venues offering taster-sized portions at capped prices.

What's On at the Festival

The free event runs from 11am to 8pm on both days. Visitors can sample dishes from 31 vendors, including Adam's, Albert's Schloss, Asha's, Cow & Sow, Cylla, F1 Arcade, Hookway's, Hotel Du Vin & Bistro, House of Chaii, Isaac's, Jamaya, Java Roastery, Kuula Poké, La Bellezza, La-Pop!, Loki Wine, Lulu Wild, Newhall Street Tavern, Plates By Purnells, Primitivo, Purecraft Bar & Kitchen, Regina's Bar & Restaurant, Sabai Sabai, Six by Nico, The Alchemist, The Queen's Head, Tiger Bites Pig, Trillium, Vagabond, Wayland's Yard, and Zambrero.

Why This Year Is Special

Last year's festival benefited from major events like Ozzy Osbourne's Back To The Beginning show, ELO's final performance at Utilita Arena, the England vs India Test Match at Edgbaston, and Billy Ocean's gig at BP Pulse LIVE. Organisers expect similar crowds this year, with the added bonus of sunny weather.

Affordable Tasting Experience

With a price cap in place, attendees can try a variety of cuisines—from steakhouses and Greek restaurants to fine dining, Indian specials, coffee, ice cream, and tapas—without spending a fortune. According to Kirsty Bosley of Birmingham Live, the festival is "perhaps the best it's ever been."

Getting There

Victoria Square is easily accessible via Birmingham New Street station and multiple bus routes. Visitors are encouraged to use public transport due to expected crowds.
